Eersel Defeats Nicolas, Loses Title on the Scale at ONE Fight Night 30

ONE Championship recently held ONE Fight Night 30 at Lumpinee Stadium.

In the co-main event of the night, Regian Eersel faced Alexis Nicolas for the third time and secured another victory, outpointing the French fighter over five rounds. However, despite winning the bout, Eersel did not claim the ONE Lightweight Kickboxing World Title. This was because he failed to meet the required weight and hydration standards before the fight.

Eersel controlled the initial rounds, setting the tempo and landing precise strikes to Nicolas`s head and body. Nicolas attempted to counter with sharp low kicks, aiming to wear down the Surinamese fighter, but Eersel maintained his composure and control throughout.

Eersel further asserted his dominance in the second round, increasing his pressure and knocking down Nicolas with a powerful left hook late in the frame.

Nicolas, known as `Barboza`, came out aggressively in the third round, trying to shift the momentum. Nevertheless, Eersel remained one step ahead, landing more accurate and impactful strikes as the fight progressed.

After five competitive rounds, Eersel was awarded a majority decision victory. While the win was added to his professional record, the championship belt remained vacant due to his failure on the scale, preventing him from retaining or winning the title.
