Formidable Former UFC Champion Scores Brutal First-Round Boxing KO, Takes Jab at Claressa Shields

Former UFC champion Cris Cyborg competed in a boxing match in San Jose last Saturday, facing Precious Harris-McCray. Since leaving the UFC in 2019, Cyborg has had remarkable success in both MMA and boxing, demonstrating her formidable striking skills across disciplines.

Cyborg, now signed with PFL following their acquisition of Bellator, has openly expressed dissatisfaction with the PFL management, stating they aren`t providing her with fights, leading to inactivity. To counter this lack of activity, the feared Brazilian fighter has been achieving significant wins in the boxing world, securing knockouts consistently and quickly establishing herself as a potential star in the sport.

Cris Cyborg Delivers First-Round Boxing Knockout

Not having competed under the PFL banner since October, the former UFC champion returned to the boxing ring this past Saturday for Fight Night 3 in San Jose, facing Precious Harris-McCray. Earlier this year, in March, Cyborg had already secured a third-round knockout victory against Valentina Angarita. She followed this up with another impressive performance, finishing Harris-McCray in the first round with a series of powerful punches.

Cris Cyborg Takes Aim at Claressa Shields After Latest KO

For years, Cyborg has been engaged in a public dispute with boxing world champion Claressa Shields, repeatedly attempting to arrange an MMA fight against her. Shields herself has competed in PFL three times, winning two matches but losing one, attributing her limited fight schedule to insufficient time.

Following her decisive victory last Saturday, Cyborg commented, “Only 5 boxing fights but I’ve already got more KO’s than Claressa Shields.” Despite Shields asserting she is the greatest women’s fighter of all time, she has only achieved three knockout wins in her 16 professional boxing bouts.
