Khabib Nurmagomedov offers to help soccer star Patrice Evra train for PFL debut: ‘Send me location’

UFC Hall of Famer Khabib Nurmagomedov has extended an offer to assist soccer legend Patrice Evra in preparing for his upcoming MMA debut in the PFL, scheduled for May 23.

Following his announcement to venture into mixed martial arts, Evra connected with Nurmagomedov. He clarified that his move into fighting is a serious undertaking, not merely for attention. The 43-year-old former member of the French National Team stated his full dedication to getting ready for his first fight.

During a conversation with Nurmagomedov, Evra expressed his desire to train seriously: “I need to train,” Evra said. “I need to take it seriously. You know how much respect I have for you, for the sport so that’s why I really need to have a training session with you. Because I want to know from the best.”

Nurmagomedov, known for his appreciation of soccer, promised his support if Evra required it, especially now that both reside in Dubai while Evra is preparing for his debut bout.

“I told you many times, send me location and I’m going to find you,” Nurmagomedov responded. “Send location, tell me where are you? When I see you, you have to be ready and that’s it. Other things, I’m going to take care of. I’m going to teach you how to smash people.”

Renowned as one of the top coaches in MMA, Nurmagomedov works with numerous champions, including UFC lightweight champion Islam Makhachev and PFL lightweight champion Usman Nurmagomedov.

Since retiring from active competition, Nurmagomedov has largely devoted his time to coaching. He is known for his demanding training regimens and his ability to maximize the potential of his fighters. It appears he is prepared to include Evra in his training sessions whenever their schedules align.

“I just want you to improve yourself,” Nurmagomedov stated encouragingly. “Nothing else. It’s very good to see you and finally I hope you’re going to send me location and then we will train together.”

Evra is set to step into the PFL cage for the first time at their upcoming event in France on May 23, taking place at the Accor Arena in Paris.
