The highly anticipated clash between Eddie Hall and Mariusz Pudzianowski in 2025 could have even higher stakes than previously imagined, according to KSW`s CEO. The two former World`s Strongest Man champions are set to headline KSW 105 this Saturday in Gliwice, Poland.
KSW CEO Martin Lewandowski recently commented on the possibility of the winner of the Hall vs. Pudzianowski bout potentially facing PFL heavyweight and former UFC champion, Francis Ngannou.
Lewandowski stated he is in contact with the PFL and is definitely interested in exploring such a cross-promotional matchup if PFL were willing to share their fighter. He expressed his eagerness to make it happen.
Given that this marks Eddie Hall`s professional MMA debut, the fight will operate under a modified ruleset. While adhering to traditional MMA combat rules, the bout will be limited to two rounds, each lasting four minutes. Additionally, the break between rounds will be extended to 90 seconds, rather than the standard one minute.
Lewandowski revealed that putting this fight together was a significant undertaking, taking considerably longer than most would assume. He spent nearly a year trying to finalize the matchup, initially asking Mariusz Pudzianowski, a five-time World`s Strongest Man himself, to connect him with Eddie Hall, the 2017 champion.
Negotiations were described as a “long, bumpy road,” complicated by external circumstances including Hall`s newborn child, which prevented the fight from happening earlier as initially planned for KSW 100. Lewandowski found the process of negotiating with Eddie Hall “fun.”
Mariusz Pudzianowski enters the fight seeking to end a two-fight losing streak in what will be his 27th professional MMA appearance. Eddie Hall`s only prior MMA experience was a viral 2-on-1 novelty bout last year.
According to Lewandowski, Eddie Hall`s contract with KSW extends beyond his debut fight, indicating a commitment to multiple appearances in the promotion.
Hall`s current deal is for two fights, though discussions about a longer future are possible depending on his schedule and performance. Lewandowski noted that Hall is taking this fight very seriously, citing his training with individuals like Tom Aspinall as evidence. The outcome of the debut fight will significantly influence future plans.
