“Lazy King” Abdoul Abdouraguimov Set to Lead PFL Event in Nantes

The Professional Fighters League (PFL) is scheduled to host an event in France on September 26. The promotion announced on Monday that the fight card will take place in Nantes and will be headlined by local standout Abdoul Abdouraguimov, whose opponent is yet to be confirmed.

This event represents PFL`s first successful staging in France, following two previously cancelled shows planned for the capital, Paris, including one initially set for May 26.

The card is also slated to feature the semifinals of the PFL Europe lightweight and bantamweight tournaments. The athletes emerging victorious from these bouts will earn their spots in the PFL Europe finals, which are scheduled for December 13 in Lyon and offer a grand prize of $100,000.

Known as “Lazy King,” Abdouraguimov was born in Dagestan but has made Nantes his base. Since 2023, he has achieved three consecutive wins competing under the PFL Europe banner. His recent successes include a decision victory over UFC veteran Laureano Staropoli in the main event of a card held in Décines-Charpieu, France, in December 2024.

In a statement released by the promotion, Abdouraguimov shared his excitement: “PFL is coming home. After 21 professional fights, I can finally fight in front of my home crowd, where I grew up and learned this sport. And now, it’s at the Zenith Nantes Metropole that I’m going to do the next Lazy Show. Grab a seat, some popcorn, and be good, but not too much, because I’m here to entertain you on September 26, let’s go!”

Abdouraguimov currently boasts an impressive nine-fight winning streak. This includes swift title-winning performances against seasoned MMA veterans Godofredo Pepey and Karl Amoussou during his tenure with Ares FC. Prior to joining PFL, he held championships in both the welterweight and middleweight divisions simultaneously in that promotion.
