Davis joined the PFL after successful runs in Bellator and the UFC. Wilkinson was looking to re-establish his dominance and pursue another title after being removed from the 2023 tournament due to a failed drug test and losing in the 2024 semifinals to Dovletdzhan Yagshimuradov.
In the heavyweight co-main event, former Bellator interim champion Valentin Moldavsky faced Sergey Bilostenniy. Bilostenniy held an 8-1 record since 2018, with his only loss being a disqualification against Tyrell Fortune, whom he later submitted in a rematch.
