Thad Jean`s undefeated run continues.
In the main event of PFL 5 held Thursday night in Nashville, TN, Jean faced former Bellator welterweight champion Jason Jackson and secured a split decision victory.
The fight was a back-and-forth battle. Jean managed to drop Jackson in the first round and controlled significant portions of the contest. Jackson, showing his veteran experience, continued to fight, mixing takedowns and submission attempts with his striking. However, he was ultimately unable to convince the judges. One judge scored the fight 29-28 for Jackson, while the other two judges scored it 29-28 and 30-27 for Jean, resulting in the split decision win. This critical victory propels Jean into the tournament finals later this year.
In the co-main event, Jesus Pinedo delivered another highlight-reel knockout, finishing Gabriel Braga in their featherweight semifinal. This marked the third encounter between Pinedo and Braga, including their 2023 PFL featherweight championship final where Pinedo won via third-round knockout. This time, Pinedo ended the fight much faster, stopping Braga in just 76 seconds.
Earlier on the main card, Movlid Khaybulaev earned a unanimous decision victory over Tae Kyun Kim, securing his place in the 2025 featherweight finals. This sets up a final showdown between two former PFL champions, Pinedo and Khaybulaev.
Also featured on the main card, Logan Storley delivered a dominant performance against Masayuki Kikuiri to advance to the welterweight tournament finals. As a former Bellator interim champion, Storley now has the opportunity to compete for another major title.
