Professional Fighters League (PFL) has announced the cancellation of its planned event in Paris scheduled for May 23. This marks another instance of the promotion calling off a card in the French capital.
In an official statement, PFL described the event as being “rescheduled” and confirmed that tickets would be refunded. However, no potential new date for the event was mentioned. The league had previously postponed a planned Bellator event in Paris after acquiring the promotion.
The cancelled May 23 card was notable as it was expected to feature the debut in mixed martial arts of former French national football team and Manchester United captain, Patrice Evra. An opponent for Evra had not been publicly named prior to the cancellation.
The event was also slated to host a lightweight main event between local fighter Mansour Barnaoui and Archie Colgan. As of now, PFL has not provided information on whether the bouts originally scheduled for this card, including planned PFL Europe bantamweight fights, will be moved to alternative upcoming events.
