During the weigh-ins on Friday, a spectator was accidentally struck by a punch from an exciting fighter in the bantamweight category.
UFC 317 is happening soon, featuring several bouts, including Ilia Topuria versus Charles Oliveira for the vacant lightweight championship.
Although Topuria and his team might be confident, no fights have started yet. However, one fighter got a little too active with his hands before stepping into the cage.
International Fight Week brought many top UFC athletes to Las Vegas for fan interactions and the Hall of Fame ceremony.
The staredown between Alexander Volkanovski and Jean Silva wasn`t the only memorable interaction during the gathering of UFC stars in the fight capital of the world.
Raul Rosas Jr. Reacts After Striking Fan Accidentally
Promising UFC bantamweight Raul Rosas Jr., aged 20, attended the UFC 317 fight week events and was well-received by the audience.
Known as ‘El Niño Problema’, he has secured four consecutive wins since his only loss, including a victory over Vince Morales in March, building momentum for a significant upcoming bout in 2025.
But Morales isn`t the only person Rosas Jr. has connected with this year, as a video shared online shows.
Surrounded by spectators and cameras at the UFC 317 weigh-ins, the rising contender enthusiastically showcased his hand speed.
While demonstrating, Rosas Jr. threw a quick left hook that unintentionally hit a fan nearby, causing their glasses to fall off.
Social media users shared various reactions, often making light of how both Rosas Jr. and the fan responded to the unexpected incident.
`Naw he just laughed at the fan.’
‘Bro almost caught a lawsuit in 4k.’
‘Good thing he’s not known for his power.’
‘I would sue and just settle that he’s never to say “chee wee wee” publicly again.’
‘Clear lawsuit.’
‘No effect! lol.’
Rosas Jr. Targets Title Shot Within Three Fights
Looking towards a potential return at Noche UFC, Raul Rosas Jr. suggested he might face a top 15 ranked opponent soon.
Appearing recently on The Ariel Helwani Show, he indicated that he believes he is approximately three victories away from challenging for the bantamweight championship.
“I don’t think I’m too far away, especially if this fight that I’ve told you about goes through and I’m able to go out there and beat the guy. That’s like two more fights inside the top 15 and I feel like that would earn me a title shot… I’m looking at it as four fights just in case but for sure, I would love three.”
If things unfold as Rosas Jr. envisions, he could potentially surpass Jon Jones` record as the youngest champion in UFC history.
