Sergio Pettis Set to Face Raufeon Stots at PFL Chicago Event

Friends inside the cage but rivals for one night: Sergio Pettis and Raufeon Stots are scheduled to compete against each other under the PFL banner.

The upcoming PFL event on June 27th, held at the Wintrust Arena in Chicago, will feature a notable clash between two former Bellator bantamweight champions, Sergio Pettis and Raufeon Stots. Their bout is slated as a showcase fight and is set to open the main card, which also includes important semifinal matchups in the light heavyweight and middleweight divisions.

Sergio Pettis, holding a record of 23 wins and 7 losses, is looking to get back on track after suffering consecutive defeats, a rare downturn for him. His recent losses came against formidable opponents Kyoji Horiguchi and Patchy Mix.

Prior to this recent stretch, Pettis had a dominant run as Bellator champion, successfully defending his title three times. This included initially capturing the belt from Juan Archuleta, delivering a spectacular knockout victory against Kyoji Horiguchi in a previous meeting, and securing a decision win over Patricio `Pitbull` Freire, thereby preventing `Pitbull` from becoming a champion in three different weight classes.

He ultimately lost the bantamweight championship to Patchy Mix at Bellator 301 and then faced another defeat in a rematch against Horiguchi at a RIZIN event in June.

Raufeon Stots, with a record of 21 wins and 2 losses, is currently on a winning streak, having secured two consecutive victories since his own championship loss to Patchy Mix.

The former interim Bellator bantamweight titleholder has notched back-to-back wins over Marcos Breno and his well-known rival, Danny Sabatello.

The main event for the PFL Chicago card on June 27th is a middleweight tournament semifinal bout between Fabian Edwards and Josh Silveira. The co-main event will feature a light heavyweight semifinal clash between Phil Davis and Sullivan Cauley.
