Belal Muhammad is set for his first defense of the UFC Welterweight Championship this weekend. This comes ten months after he claimed the title from Leon Edwards.
Muhammad reached the pinnacle of the UFC`s welterweight division last July, following a long and dedicated climb.
The reigning champion has an impressive undefeated streak dating back to January 2019, boasting 10 wins and one no contest (from the initial fight with Edwards due to an eye poke) in his last 11 appearances.
Muhammad has shown dominant form recently and is now set to face Jack Della Maddalena in his inaugural title defense.
While the Australian challenger is ranked No. 5 in the division, trailing fighters like Edwards and Kamaru Usman, he has compiled a noteworthy record of his own.
Della Maddalena remains undefeated in his seven bouts since entering the UFC.
In fact, his overall professional winning streak extends to 17 fights, with his sole loss occurring in May 2016 during only his second pro outing.
However, he has been inactive for the past year, despite holding significant recent victories over Gilbert Burns and Kevin Holland.
