Combat sports fans were highly amused when Irish UFC fighter Ian Machado Garry engaged in a hilarious attempt to disrupt the weight loss efforts of a potential opponent.
Garry is currently serving as the reserve fighter for the planned bout between Belal Muhammad and Jack Della Maddalena at UFC 315 this Saturday night.
As Della Maddalena is focused on shedding pounds to make weight for his fight, Garry devised a creative plan to potentially tempt the Australian off his strict regime.
Garry reportedly used artificial intelligence to find out Della Maddalena`s favorite food, which revealed the answer to be peanut M&Ms.
Capitalizing on this information, Garry smartly had his two-year-old son, Leo, make a surprise appearance during one of Della Maddalena`s interviews to present him with a large bag of the colorful candies.

Della Maddalena took the prank in good spirits, reacting with amusement as young Leo held up the bag and offered it, saying, “Gift for you.”

A smiling Della Maddalena graciously accepted the offering, replying, “They look good, thank you. Legend.”
He then shared a high-five with the toddler before Leo returned to his seemingly proud father.
The interaction quickly gained traction online, with fans finding the stunt hilarious. One commenter said, “Garry doing everything so he doesn`t hit the weight.”
Another user simply remarked, “Leo is a gentleman.”
A third fan described the moment as “so wholesome.”
In another lighthearted moment, Garry also had his son Leo pretend to interview UFC welterweight champion Belal Muhammad before the event, prompting Muhammad to humorously declare him “the best interviewer he had so far.”

Beyond the humorous antics, Garry also spoke seriously about his position in the division. He told Full Send MMA that he views Sean Brady as “boring” and claims, “No one really cares about him. No one really wants to watch him fight… They don’t care about him.”
Contrasting himself with others, Garry added, “At the end of the day, I’m still taking fights on short notice against the most dangerous guys in the division. We’ll see if that makes the difference when it comes to title contendership.”
