The K-1 BEYOND event in Yokohama faced unexpected challenges during its pre-fight weigh-ins, as several competitors failed to meet their required weight limits. This was an unusual occurrence for the Japanese promotion, typically recognized for its professional standards regarding weigh-ins.
Most notably, Yodkhunpon weighed in 100 grams over the limit for the K-1 Super Lightweight (-65 kg) title bout, resulting in him being stripped of his championship. His opponent, Shu Inagaki, is now the sole fighter eligible to claim the belt. If Inagaki does not win the fight, the title will remain vacant.

In another incident, Lyra Nagasaka, scheduled to compete against Rui Okubo, did not attend the weigh-ins at all and was consequently disqualified. Rui Okubo was awarded a win by default. Nagasaka initially posted on Twitter expressing shock and indicating retirement plans, but this tweet was quickly deleted.
Sota Amano also missed weight significantly, coming in a substantial 2.2 kg over the limit for his fight against Leona Pettas. K-1 regulations typically call for immediate disqualification if a fighter misses weight by more than 2 kg. However, at the press conference, Pettas conditionally accepted the bout. His conditions were that this would be Amano`s final appearance in K-1, and that Amano must successfully weigh in at 63.0 kg during a second weigh-in scheduled for 11:00 AM the following day. A final decision regarding this match is expected by 17:00.
Despite the issues with weigh-ins, the fight card still features four title bouts set to proceed. Ouyang Feng is scheduled to defend his K-1 Super Welterweight title against Darryl Verdonk. The Super Lightweight title, with only Shu Inagaki eligible, will be contested by Yodkhunpon and Inagaki. Mahmoud Sattari and Thian de Vries will compete for the vacant Cruiserweight championship, and the vacant Super Featherweight (-60 kg) title will be decided through a high-stakes one-night Grand Prix tournament.
